Suzy Teixeira: Hypnotherapy the ideal solution for insomnia and other sleep issues

According to Hypnotherapist and founder of Hypnotherapy Melbourne, Suzy Teixeira, many people suffer from insomnia and sleep walking, sometimes for no clear reason.   At least 10 percent of people experience insomnia at any given time.  The Sleep Health Foundation states that insomnia is said to be present when you regularly find it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep. It has several patterns. You may have trouble getting to sleep initially. Or even if you can fall asleep, you might not be able to stay asleep for as long as you would like.  Also you may wake up during the night and not be able to go back to sleep for a long time. Many people have two of the above problems, or even all three. Because of this, many people struggle to function and carry on a normal life during the day.  
 
"Insomnia can be life destroying, but what people don't understand is that insomnia is not a disease, it is a symptom," Suzy said. 
 
"This is where hypnotherapy can help.    
 
"Many people suffering from insomnia have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.  They wake up several times during the night and can't get back to sleep. 
 
"Insomnia can be caused by psychiatric and medical conditions, unhealthy bed time or sleep habits, specific foods, drinks, medications, other substances, or biological factors. 
 
"Sleep walking is also another issue for many people.  Not only is it dangerous it affects your body's ability to rest and restore itself while you are sleeping."
 
Sleepwalking is most common in children however it also affects adults.  It normally occurs one to two hours after falling asleep at night and is more common when the person is sleep deprived.
